Real Food Doesn’t Come in a Bag, Box or Can
“If you are bringing home bags of: boxes, bags and cans of “food” from the Supermarket -throw away the contents and eat the packaging.”
Dr. Joel Wallach, BS, DMV, ND
There was a time
. . . when discerning shoppers carefully selected the ingredients for meals from an array of in-season vegetables, fruit and fresh meat that were carefully grown and hand-selected by growers or vendors whose livelihood depended on their character, integrity and expertise.
. . . when: people actually prepared meals and came together at meal time – without arguments about what was served – to eat and talk to each other about their day.
No More! Factory Food has Replaced Carefully Selected Fresh Food & Family Time.
Today, harried Super-moms, Super-dads and Super-kids are grabbing quick “somethings”, so they can cram more and more tasks into each day.
Advertising and packaging have replaced the art of selecting and consuming food.
Instead, people are choosing packaged factory food and convenience food that contains preservatives, taste enhancers and color enhancers, that are produced by people in a place that God only knows – instead of nutritious, fresh, real food. learn more about what in factory food »
Cheap and Fast or Easy to Fix
il·lu·sion: noun1. a thing that is or is likely to be wrongly perceived or interpreted by the senses. |
Advertising messages have prevailed over common sense:
from the art of selecting and consuming nutritious food and life management – to caring for the health and well-being of the body.
Several generations of people have been conditioned to believe that other people’s ingenuity and technology can replace personal responsibility.
Unfortunately, it’s only an illusion! The human body is unable cope with this misplaced confidence – your health and well-being is the price!
“Dr. Lucas, you’re suffering from old fashioned thinking.”
Recently, I was accused of suffering from “old fashioned thinking” on matters of health and healing. Since the accusation occurred near a milestone in my life, my 68th birthday, it cried out for introspection.
I was compelled to reexamine “new thinking” and to consider all of the advances in mental health, medical technologies, laboratory techniques, drugs and food processing.
And, sure enough, there have been many advances during the 40 years that I have actually been paying attention but, I won’t bore you with the details.
I Reached a Verdict – I am NOT GUILTY of Old Fashioned Thinking! My accuser missed the most important fact of all – there is no Version 2 of the human body. |
- Guilty – of promoting the illusions that new technology can replace the basic characteristics of your body.
- Guilty – of repeating the illusions surrounding manufactured food, exaggerations from researchers, laboratory “hair-splitting” , mental, medical and pharmaceutical breakthroughs.
- Guilty – of repeating all of the “stuff” that advertising and communications experts require to ply their reporting and advertising trade.
Old Fashioned – HA!
So, accuser, go ahead, call me old fashioned if you want. But, until there is an introduction of new version of the Human Body, I’m sticking to my guns – Healthy People Don’t Get Sick.
One Final Thought
Regardless of the technologies built into modern cars, there are three things that never change:
- fuel gauge
- temperature gauge
- oil gauge
. . . for an obvious reason: if you keep the fuel tank full, the engine cool and lubricated, tires, brakes, shocks in good working order – you won’t find yourself stranded on the side of the road.
It makes perfect sense to be watchful – unless you plan to trade cars every time it runs out of fuel, gets a flat tire or “stop working right” due to neglected basic maintenance.
Unlike your car, your body is adaptable – to a point.
It can compensate for the lack of nourishing food, fresh water and rest – until the deficiencies become so profound as to cause functional and structural issues and subsequent failure.
That’s the exact process that leads to declining health that culminates in sickness and a suffering death. And, despite all of the bravado to the contrary, this almost imperceptible decline in health is predictable – but not inevitable.
Unlike your car, your body is resilient: it can, in many cases, heal itself. So, don’t despair if you find yourself on the side of the road. And, I’m happy to say: Thanks to your body’s resiliency, it is possible that time and attentiveness could get you “back on the road.”
My job is simple: help you learn why and how to keep your body in top notch shape – because you can’t replace your body.
I can help you formulate a strategy that helps you protect or improve your health. You should consider securing my services to help protect or improve your most valuable asset – your good health.
